What if I Don’t Trust God?
Most of the devotionals that are posted here point to God’s healing power. So, when I was asked what to do if one does not believe in God, or trust Him for what He promises in His word, I was speechless. The reason I didn’t have words results from the fact I can’t imagine living without relying on God for everything.
As I ponder the question, it seems the question should be, “Why don’t you trust God?” Many times in our lives we have experiences where the authority figures in our life at an early age, whether it be teachers, a pastor, or a family member disappointed us in some way that causes us to not trust now; today. We can also be influenced by our society where trusting in God is not considered to be associated with someone highly educated, but only by those who are needy and uninformed.
God loves us and wants the best for us. He says in His word that we should ask the questions we have, and He will answer them. If we want to know where He was in a terrible situation, we can ask Him and He will tell us. But, we must be willing to accept His answer. He will come and show us where He was and bring healing into the event and into our lives.
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
