Is it Worth Waiting?

Is it Worth Waiting?

As I was washing my white top that had a stain on it, I sprayed it with a reputable stain cleaner. In the past the cleaner did not work to my expectations. So, I decided to read the directions. It suggested leaving the stain remover on for up to 10 minutes before washing, depending on the severity of the stain.

I started to think about stains and waiting. First I thought about how Jesus washes us white as snow, in His blood, when we repent and give our life to Him.

“’Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the LORD, ‘though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’” (Isaiah 1:18 NKJV)

Then I thought about waiting. It took time for the stain remover to work. And the longer I waited, the more powerful it became. When we wait patiently on the Lord for answers to our prayers, our faith is tested to exercise it and make it stronger. God is always working, especially when we do not see any progress. Wait on the Lord.

“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall, mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31  NKJV
