Should I be concerned about the next move?

Occasionally I play chess with my daughter.  Each move is calculating and decisive.  The current move must be an anticipation of three moves ahead.

As Christians, we are in a war and our moves are important.  However, we cannot out-smart the devil, and if we anticipate that we can, then we have already lost.

“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. Psalm 31:14-15.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”  Ephesians 6:11
