Life is Short
I used to make greeting and birthday cards for my friends and family. I remember so clearly the card I made for my nephew’s 20th birthday. There was an image of a stack of boxer shorts, and I inscribed inside of the card, “Life is Short!” My nephew was killed in a car accident four months later. What I thought was a light hearted birthday card ended up being a prophecy.
When we take our final breath, how do we want to be known? In the scheme of things, since the time we have on earth is such a small time compared to eternity, I would think it is wise to prepare for what is coming instead of what is now. Eternity presents life or death. The only way we can live is surrendering our lives to the plan God has for us, and that is life through the blood of Jesus. We can have unspeakable joy and peace that passes all understanding while here on earth when we receive what God has for us.
“Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.”
Psalm 144:4 NKJV
“…Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.”
I Peter 1:7a,8 NKJV
“…and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7 NKJV
