Do You Play Ping Pong?

Do You Play Ping Pong?

I was reminded not long ago, about a time in my life where I had no control over a grave situation. I ended up playing ping pong with God. Jesus tells us to give Him our burdens. I would give Him my burden; then I would try to help Him, just a little. Before I knew it, the burden was back in my court. I would release it to Him again, but I had to have some control over the situation, so I helped Him again. Guess what! He didn’t need my help, and I was getting in His way. I had to learn that relinquishing control was essential.

Now, when I am praying for a dire situation, and I see it getting worse, I can relax. I know that when God is working, things get stirred up. So, I have learned to praise Him in the turbulence and keep on praying.

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”  Psalm 55:22  NKJV

“…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”  I Peter 5:7  NKJV

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30  NKJV
