The hummingbird

Have you ever noticed some distractions when you are trying to pray?

I was on the phone the other day with my prayer partner, and she asked me what my prayer needs were. I clearly stated what I needed prayer for, and I had to repeat myself four more times. She said, “obviously the enemy does not want me to hear this.” As she said this, a hummingbird came up to the window.  I initially thought another distraction.   I was in awe.

Hummingbirds are known for their humming sound created by their beating wings which flap at high frequencies audible to humans. One of the key factors about Hummingbirds is that they have a taste receptor that helps them seek nectar (sweet things). As I thought on this, I could see God’s hand, as his sweet aroma of His presence. Within that moment my prayer partner could hear my request and was able to pray.

I can see my LORD’s hand in all things, He is my helper, “Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. Psalm 54:4 NKJV
