Adam and Eve when they sinned realized (first knowledge) that they were naked, stripped without covering.  God was their covering.

Have you considered what you are wearing?   We can put on shame, guilt, self-pity, hopelessness and many other clothes that are not edifying to God.

The good news is that God uncovers what is not of Him.  However, God does require us to put on certain clothes ourselves.

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;” Colossians 3:12

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”  Ephesians 6:11
